THE REPRESENTATIVES OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE UAE BUILD UP THE POTENTIAL OF BILATERAL COOPERATION

Within the period from August 29 to September 2nd, 2021, the Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.Matiyew visits the United Arab Emirates.

In the framework of the visit the delegation of Turkmenistan had meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE on Asian countries’ affairs, Minister of State Ahmed Al Sayegh, as well as with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei.

During the constructive talks, the sides discussed the issues of close bilateral dialogue of Turkmenistan and the UAE on broad range of questions having mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the issues of political-diplomatic collaboration, broadening of economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

It was particularly noted that the current visit of Turkmen delegation allowed the parties to discuss the key political and economic issues, consider implementation progress of mutual projects for various purposes.

At the meetings the sides also considered the issues regarding the current situation in Afghanistan. The need for the consolidation of joint efforts for the peaceful settlement of circumstances was expressed.

On the 31st of August, the Turkmen delegation had a meeting with the heads of the Emirates’ company “Mubadala” and discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of investments, finance and gas-chemicals. The parties expressed the need of broadening the legal base of bilateral cooperation with the aim of all-round implementation of the agreements reached before.
