A package of documents with specialized UN agencies signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

Currently, Turkmenistan is significantly expanding its traditional cooperation with the United Nations and especially its structural divisions on current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Mutual interest in the implementation of joint projects corresponds to the long-term nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN and is an effective impetus for the successful solution of all set goals and objectives for the benefit of the further development of the country.

Thus, on February 18, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a ceremony of signing documents between ministries, departments, public organizations of Turkmenistan and representative offices of the structural units of the United Nations in Turkmenistan - UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF.

During the ceremony, the following 22 documents were signed regarding the interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN in the field of economics, health, education, media, as well as other important areas:

 

  1. The working plan of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan, the Union of Women of Turkmenistan and UNICEF representation in Turkmenistan for 2024 in realisation of the Program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025;
  2. The work plan of the Office of Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan and UNICEF representation in Turkmenistan for 2024 in realisation of the Program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025;
  3. The work plan of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan and UNICEF representation in Turkmenistan for 2024 in realisation of the Program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025;
  4. The work plan of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and UNICEF representation in Turkmenistan for 2024 in realisation of the Program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025;
  5. The work plan of Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and UNICEF representation in Turkmenistan for 2024 in realisation of the Program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025;

  11. The amended project document “The second phase of "Strengthening the trade potential of Turkmenistan" between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  12. The project document “Assistance to the strengthening of the institutional and legislative environment for improvement of financial markets» for 2024-2025 between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  13. The amended Agreement “Procurement of medicines and health products for the control of non-communicable diseases (NCD) in Turkmenistan through in Turkmenistan through the Development Program of the United Nations Organization” between Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  14. The amended Agreement “Procurement of health products for the control of infectious diseases in 2021-2023 for the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan” between Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  15. The work plan of the second phase of the regional project “Strengthening the resilience of society and cross-border cooperation to prevent violent extremism in Central Asia” by Turkmenistan for 2023-2024  between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  16. The amended project document "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" in Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  17. The project document “Support in improving statistics of foreign trade in services, as well as in improving statistical information on the volume of passenger and cargo transportation” for 2024-2025 between the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  18. The project document “Support to the development of a financial account to further introduce System of National Accounts 2008” for 2024-2025 between the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  19. The amended project document Assistance in Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan” between the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  20. The project document “Assistance in capacity building of the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan” for 2024-2025 between the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan  and representation of the Development Program of the United Nations Organization (UNDP) in Turkmenistan;
  21. The joint work plan of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and representations of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan for 2024-2025;
  22. The joint work plan of the Institute of State, Law and democracy of Turkmenistan and representation of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan for 2024-2025.
