Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the heads of the country’s diplomatic corps

On December 14, 2023, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting together with the heads of the country’s diplomatic corps abroad, dedicated to the foreign policy activities of Turkmenistan.

In the framework of the meeting, a review of the activities of the structural units of the Foreign Ministry, as well as diplomatic missions and consulates of the country abroad took place in the context of the implementation of the Concept of the foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan for 2022 - 2028 and the priority tasks were discussed, which were assigned to the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during an extended meeting of Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on December 11, 2023. 

Opening the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov informed the participants about the results of the Ministry’s activities during the reporting period, the successful implementation of a constructive foreign policy strategy initiated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as the results of the the specified period of high-level foreign visits and visits to Turkmenistan by leaders of foreign states and a number of international organizations.

It was noted that during the bilateral meetings and summit talks, important agreements were reached aimed at strengthening and expanding fruitful cooperation that meets the interests of common well-being and prosperity.

Bilateral political consultations, intergovernmental commissions, joint business forums and humanitarian and cultural contacts aimed at the comprehensive development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and other countries of the world are taking place on a regular basis.

During the meeting, the heads of the diplomatic missions and consulates of Turkmenistan spoke about the work done during the reporting period and, in accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, exchanged views on determining the further development of political and diplomatic relations, promoting trade and economic cooperation, expanding scientific, educational and cultural ties of Turkmenistan with the states of the world and international organizations.
